01
In what specific phase should the entrepreneurs be in?
We welcome entrepreneurs at all stages to evaluate the curriculum and determine if they would benefit from the sessions. We encourage all interested individuals to apply. Research indicates that women may hesitate to apply for opportunities if they don’t feel fully qualified. If you're unsure, we strongly encourage you to submit an application.
02
What is the cost of participation?
The only expenses you need to cover are your travel and accommodation costs for the 5-day program in San Francisco. Most meals during the program will be covered, meaning your flight and overnight accommodation in San Francisco are the main costs.
03
Are there any scholarships or support available? Who is eligible for help?
While the program is free of charge, participants are responsible for covering their own travel expenses. We understand that some individuals may face financial barriers. Therefore, we offer travel cost reimbursement for up to two participants who can demonstrate a compelling need, such as: • Belonging to marginalized groups with limited access to funding. • Coming from regions with restricted financial resources. • Working on high-impact projects in underrepresented or high-need sectors. • Experiencing significant personal or professional challenges. • Being part of underrepresented demographics in the tech or energy sectors.
04
Can multiple participants from the same company join? Are Solopreneurs allowed to join?
Yes, Solopreneurs are welcome to participate. For the online course, a maximum of 2 participants per start-up are permitted to attend, however, the in-person Silicon Valley program is limited to 1 participant per start-up. The person who will be attending the Silicon Valley trip should fill-out the application for the program. (Please limit 1 application per Start-up).
05
What does Femmetech/ Health, Climate, and Education encompass?
These areas cover a broad range of applications. The primary criterion is that your solution has a positive impact on health, the environment, or education. (Extra great if the application is in women’s health!)
06
What is my commitment other than covering travel costs to Silicon Valley?
Your main commitment involves time. • Virtual Sessions: From October 1st to November 10th 2024, you'll participate in weekly 2-hour virtual sessions with mentors, in the evening of Central European time zone. There will also be homework assignments between sessions, with the sessions and homework together totaling around 4 hours a week. • Silicon Valley Program: Additionally, the in-person Silicon Valley program will require your full participation over 5 days, including attendance to site visits, networking dinners, and mentoring sessions. We understand this requires time away from your daily work obligations, but the experience will be highly valuable and rewarding. We also ask that all participants share about their experience via their social media channels. • Innovation Showcase in Berlin: Finally, in spring of 2025 we will organize an innovation showcase in Berlin to reunite the cohort and present the group to partners and players.
